Strengthening the commitment to the community, FWD Insurance presents Volunteering Month programme

PT FWD Insurance Indonesia (“FWD Insurance”), a customer-led and digitally enabled life insurance company in Indonesia, introduced the Volunteering Month programme to realise FWD Insurance’s commitment and encourage employees to engage in social and environmental actions. This initiative also embodies one of FWD Insurance's core values, 'Caring', through tangible actions on financial literacy education, environmental conservation, and sustainable living for communities.

Desy N. Widjaya as President Director of FWD Insurance emphasised that the Volunteering Month programme is a realisation of the company's strategy, making sustainability as a strategic direction and guide in responding to relevant social, economic, and environmental issues. "FWD Insurance is consistently presenting programmes that have a positive impact on community and the environment. Through this programme, FWD Insurance also provides opportunities for employees to volunteer, thereby enhancing engagement and fostering a volunteering culture within the company. This aligns with the company’s vision of changing the way people feel about insurance." stated Desy.

One of the activities featured in the Volunteering Month programme was planting 790 mangrove seedlings in the area around Pantai Indah Kapuk. In collaboration with Mangrove Jakarta Community, more than 100 FWD Insurance employees volunteered in this coastal environmental conservation programme around Jakarta, which plays a role in absorbing concentrations of carbon dioxide and helps reduce air pollution. The planting of these mangrove seedlings has the potential to absorb 1,185 kg of carbon dioxide per year.

Various activities also presented in the Volunteering Month. These activities include financial literacy for middle school students in JA SparktheDream programme, in collaboration with Prestasi Junior Indonesia; blood donation and book donation held at Pacific Century Place, in collaboration with Indonesian Red Cross, Citibank, N.A., Indonesia (Citi Indonesia), Pacific Century Place, HHP Law Firm, and Donasi Barang.
