FWD Insurance launches FWD Berkah Pendidikan to help Indonesian parents prepare their children’s future

PT FWD Insurance Indonesia (“FWD Insurance”), a customer-led insurance company, today introduced FWD Berkah Pendidikan, a first-in-the-market insurance product in Indonesia, that provides education plan benefits along with counselling support services for parents while assisting their children to prepare for the future. This can be a solution for securing children’s tertiary education such as university.

FWD Berkah Pendidikan, an insurance product with sharia principle is here to help parents plan for their children’s education and ensure that they have the financial resources as necessary.”

The key features of FWD Berkah Pendidikan include:

• Cash benefits that can be used to fund a child’s education in university, in a lump sum and monthly instalments, when the child is between the ages of 18 until 22.

• Financial protection in the form of cash benefits and waiver of further contributions, and cash benefit in the event of a parent’s death, total permanent disability, or diagnosis of a critical illness. This ensures that the child’s education will be financially secure even when something happens to the parent. This is a unique feature and first in the insurance market.

• The flexibility to adjust the payment contribution period to suit the customer’s affordability.

Ayoe Sutomo, M.Psi, as a professional clinical psychologist at the press conference stated, “Every parent wants to provide the best education for their child. During their journey, there are various challenges that can interfere parent’s psychological well-being. This often triggers conflict and drastic changes in emotional state which can also have an impact on their daily life and the interpersonal communication. Thus, it is also important to pay attention to the parent’s mental health. They need to get counselling and advice from professional psychologist to be mentally ready when preparing better children’s future.”

In response to this need, FWD Insurance is providing mental health support services for parents, including free coaching services and video consultations with experts in the mental health field through the ThoughtFullChat application for one year – anytime, anywhere from a mobile phone. “This mental health support service is our way to responding to the needs of modern society when it comes to maintaining good mental health,” said Ade. “It is in line with our vision changing the way people feel about insurance.”
