FWD Insurance launches 1OxFWD Volunteering Weeks

PT FWD Insurance Indonesia (“FWD Insurance") launches 1OxFWD Volunteering Weeks and encourages employees in carrying out social actions and environmental care through various volunteering activities held on July 3-14, 2023, as part of FWD Group’s 10th anniversary year Community Care initiatives.

Jonathan Hekster, Country Advisor FWD in Indonesia said, "This program is an initiative where we come together to put one of our most important FWD values, 'caring' into action. Our focus is on financial literacy, environmental protection, and sustainable livelihood in our communities. To support these volunteering activities, our employees are eligible for volunteering leave, allowing them to take part in these volunteering activities.”

The program consists of several activities, including green mussel restoration, blood donation, and financial literacy classes for middle school students.

The green mussel restoration is conducted to improve the seawater quality in Jakarta Bay, and will take place in the Taman Impian Jaya Ancol area. Each 1 kilogram of living green mussel can filter 10 liter of seawater within 1 hour. From this activity, expected breeding around 600 kilogram to 1 ton of living green mussel that will clean the seawater. In this regard, the activity will be contributing to the biodiversity growth in Jakarta coastal area.

A blood donation activity is being held at Pacific Century Place and is open for public participation. This blood donation activity is conducted in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross, Citi Indonesia, and Pacific Century Place.

On financial literacy side, our JA SparktheDream program in collaboration with Prestasi Junior Indonesia continues. FWD Insurance employees are involved in financial literacy sessions at SMPN 77 Jakarta and Sekolah Rakyat Ancol.
