FWD Insurance and PJI hold JA SparktheDream Social Challenge to celebrate financial inclusion month

02 October 2024

PT FWD Insurance Indonesia (“FWD Insurance”) and Prestasi Junior Indonesia (“PJI”) held the JA SparktheDream Social Challenge to conclude the second year of the JA SparktheDream program, which successfully educated more than 2,000 junior high school students. The event also coincided with the celebration of Bulan Inklusi Keuangan (financial inclusion month) 2024. In this competition, students were challenged to develop innovative social ideas that promote financial literacy and inclusion in their communities. The two winning teams will advance to the Asia Pacific competition in November.

Rudy F. Manik, Chief Human Resources & Marketing Officer of FWD Insurance, stated, “This program reflects our commitment to raising public awareness—particularly among young people—about the importance of financial literacy and inclusion as key foundations for achieving lifelong financial well-being. We hope the program’s growing reach and impact will support the Financial Services Authority (OJK)’s efforts to significantly and sustainably improve financial inclusion across Indonesia.”

Pribadi Setiyanto, Chairman of the Executive Board of Prestasi Junior Indonesia, explained, “The JA SparktheDream Social Challenge serves as a platform to apply the financial concepts that students have learned with FWD’s volunteers in the classroom. In addition to deepening their understanding of financial management practices, this competition also equips them with essential future skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration.”

The Social Challenge competition is part of the JA SparktheDream program, which equips students with the financial literacy skills and tools they need to take charge of their financial future. In this competition, students work in small teams to enter the challenge and create a short video highlighting a social issue in their local communities, along with their proposed solutions. Through this activity, young people can turn their dreams and innovative ideas into real actions that benefit society, especially in the area of financial literacy.
